His work has usually been classified into the different periods: Blue Period (1901–1904), the Rose Period (1904–1906), the African-influenced Period (1907–1909), Analytic Cubism (1909–1912), and Synthetic Cubism (1912–1919).
‘‘Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the best-known figures in 20th-century art’’.
Picasso is back at the Prado through the famous Swiss museum, Kunstmuseum, with an essential anthology of the most decisive moments of the artist’s career. The pieces revive an artistic link with the Prado, which he actually directed through the years of the Civil war and creates a vivid dialogue with other artists of the Renaissance and Baroque. In this exhibition held at the Prado Museum, we can delight ourselves with the 10 Picassos which were certainly the most outstanding of his works of the Kunstmuseum. The 10 painting are also a great example of his evolution as an artist, beginning in the Iberian period until the cubism to the freest version of the melancholic works of Picasso by 1967, forming a great and unforgettable retrospective of the Spanish artist. The exhibition is calculated to be worth 482 million euros.
