Today, Thursday 5th of february the gallery inaugurates the first individual exhibition of spanish artist Marla Jacarilla , showing her series " Anotations for an eisegesis." In her own words: " The pieces that conform the series Anotations for an eisegesis, open a wound that approaches concepts such as appropiation, reinterpretation, modification or plagarism, and it proposes a reflexion of these ideas. Using materials that already exist (newspaper articles, graphics, novels..etc), the work I selected show the inevitable of a subjective interpretation - the eisegesis that gives a title to the sample- carried out from the bases of a constant reinterpretation. A representation that expands, modifies and questions unceasingly the history of art".
The evolution of his work comes from the use of different innovative techniques such as writting or the use of visual instalations to narrate her appreciations. The exposition will remain open to the pubic until March 14th. This is an experience that I recommend to those passionate for artistic creations and conceptual art.
