PELLO
IRAZU
Exhibition: 11 of February to the 19 of April 2015.
Pello Irazu (Guipúzcoa, 1963) is one of the most relevant representatives of the actual Spanish sculptural revolution. He began in the 80s in the path of minimalism and post-minimalism. During his career, other artist such as Jorge Oteiza or Joseph Beuys inspired him a more constructive character. From then onwards, Irazu began a long reflection towards contemporary sculpture and its interaction with the spectators.

This particular exhibition has been designed specifically for Sala Alcalá 31 taking into account the particularity of such a space. From the building onwards, Irazu creates a special universe where his artwork dialogues with the already pre-existing architecture. The installation is a combination of murals, sculptural objects, as well as, sounds which results in a relation between the public and the space.
This makes us viewers to not only experiment the place as a trivial or mere exhibition space, instead a place where the content and the container play a game where they both relate through the different objects, murals and sounds. Clearly, the exhibition is an exercise for the viewers in order to understand and perceive space and form in a different unconventional way.
